Chalford Hill Villagers Want a Donkey Back
Greg Brown

February 12, 2008

Chalford Hill, Frome Valley, England: Villagers want to bring back a donkey to help them lug their shopping up a steep and narrow hill.

The attached village photo is from the 1930s and donkeys have been gone for years.

Resident Dave Andrews said: "The entire village is backing the campaign to bring back the Chalford donkey -- it's a brilliant idea." Cost for a donkey is $584 to $1,168 (300 to 600 pounds, 402 to 804 euros).
