For 50 years, customers have relied on Kalmar's purpose-built terminal tractors to move trailers at ports, intermodal facilities and distribution centres. Regarded for their excellent durability, operator comfort, service ease and latest generation engines featuring the cleanest in engine technology, the 45,000th unit recently came off the assembly line at Kalmar's US manufacturing plant in Ottawa, Kansas. The milestone machine will be delivered as part of an order from Parsec, Inc, the intermodal division of Cincinnati-based O/B Leasing.

In June 2006, the Ottawa factory produced its 40,000th unit, reinforcing the superiority of Kalmar's offering and its customers' desire to fulfill just-in-time inventory requirements which influenced more rental and fleet sales. It took 41 years to build the first 25,000 units and less than nine years to build the next 20,000 units.
