Oakley Junior, the Squirrel, Sits on Ranger's Head
Greg Brown

May 27, 2008

Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, England:  In Central Park, a squirrel has befriended Park Ranger Mark Swift.

Said Swift: "When I first spotted him, he was in the middle of the park just standing there. I went over to see if he was alright, thinking that he would run away, but he just stood there, and when I started walking away, he followed me. I picked him up and then we were inseparable.  It was so surreal."

The squirrel is now named Oakley Junior (after the park’s mascot, Oakley).  He is popular with the children, and he enjoys sitting on Swift’s head.
